Something New Coming to the Brown Butter Beauty Lineup!

It's no secret that I love making things!!  Everything from creating product formulas to making jewelry!!! (side note:  I used to own a glass jewelry business before starting Brown Butter Beauty) My new current obsession is making candles!!!  I've been researching, creating and testing out different candle making supplies for a little over a year and I'm finally ready to add a few to the Brown Butter Beauty lineup!!!

Candle making from scratch is very complicated.  There are dozens of different waxes and wicks and hundreds of different vessels and fragrances.  All of which has to play well together and that is no easy task.  Certain wick brands don't work well with certain waxes and then you have to figure out the right size wicks to use which depends on your container width and fragrance load. Then you have to tweak your fragrance and wick size to figure out the best combination to get the best hot throw!  This requires lots and LOTS of testing before getting the right combination!!!

We will be using both traditional and wooden wicks!  The wooden wicks are really cool because they make a crackling sound when burning!!

One of the things that makes my HAPPY is shopping for unique candle vessels and supplies!!  I found these recycled glass jars made in Spain in a local convenience store in Brooklyn.  These will be great for container candles!!

Creative candles are such a treat!!!  They add ambience to a room and the scent can evoke feel good memories!!  They make great hostess gifts for dinner parties or as a thank you gift from a house guest.

I have so much more to talk about concerning candles!!  Later I will talk about getting the most out of your candle, burn times and much more....
